Sources close to the Trump campaign are saying that there will be a huge announcement at Trump’s Wausau, Wisconsin campaign stop on April 2nd. This follows just two days after Trump stated that he was breaking his promise to support the Republican nominee and not run as an independent third party candidate.
In a CNN town hall meeting, Trump was asked if he would honor the pledge he signed in September 2015 to support whomever becomes the Republican presidential candidate. Foregoing his usual long-winded answers, Trump responded simply, “No, I wont.” This follows escalating tensions between Trump and Republican leaders who seem determined to undermine the Trump campaign at every turn.
While the source won’t confirm the exact nature of the announcement, they will say that it is going to “side-step the Republican leaders who are determined to steal this election from the American people. This announcement will ensure that the American people get to vote for Trump this November.” When asked if this meant Trump would run as an independent, the source replied, “Do you know another way to guarantee he is on the ballot in November?”
All of this follows weeks of speculation from pundits that the Trump campaign is heading for a crash as media becomes increasingly antagonistic and recent statements over prosecuting women for abortions raised such outcry that the normally hard-line Trump reversed his statement publicly.
The Hilary Clinton and Ted Cruz campaigns have not yet returned calls for comment to this upcoming announcement but a source near the Bernie Sanders Campaign deferred to a little bird who said this was all a big April Fool’s Day joke.
Disclaimer: For those that missed the large numbers of clues within the text, this is an April Fool’s Day joke. This is satire, funny, humor, a prank, and otherwise made up in order to get a laugh on a day we celebrate pranks. We don’t have any sources with any of the campaigns, nor do we want any. This is, as Monty Python would say, a work of fiction. Imaginary bonus points if you read that in Eric Idle’s voice. Happy April Fool’s Day!
